Call for Proposals 2020-2021
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) supports projects proposed and implemented by community groups, NGOs, regional government institutions, and other grassroots organizations working on local development activities. Since 1997, the CFLI funding for small projects in Mongolia has reached more than 7 million Canadian dollars, which focused on reducing poverty and strengthening good governance.
This year, we are accepting proposals for projects focusing on the following priority themes:
- Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls;
- Inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights and the rule of law;
- Growth that works for everyone, including women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, investing in the poorest and most vulnerable, and safeguarding economic gains. Project proposals that focus on the following themes will also be considered:
- Human dignity, covering health, education and nutrition;
- Environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management;
Project proposal submission deadline: Monday, September 21, 2020, 17:00 hrs
Project implementation dates: November 6, 2020 until February 28, 2021 (deadline for completion). Projects spanning two years should be completed by February 1, 2022.
Maximum funding: CA$50,000 per project.
The maximum amount of funding is CA$50,000; however, most projects receive CFLI funding in the range of CA$12,000 to CA$20,000. Project proposals can be submitted in either English or Mongolian. Please note that only selected proposals will be contacted by October 15, 2020. Proposals sent after the submission deadline, and proposals that do not meet the project requirements will be automatically eliminated from the selection process.
