The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) supports projects proposed and implemented by community groups, NGOs, regional government institutions, and other grassroots organizations working on local development activities. Since 1997, the CFLI funding for small projects in Mongolia has reached about 7 million Canadian dollars which focused on reducing poverty and strengthening good governance.
This year, we are accepting proposals for projects focusing on the following themes:
- Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls;
- Inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights and the rule of law;
- Human dignity, covering health, education and nutrition;
- Growth that works for everyone, including women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, investing in the poorest and most vulnerable, and safeguarding economic gains.
Project proposal submission deadline: April 1, 2019, 17:00 hrs
Project implementation dates: June 1, 2019 through February 15, 2020. Projects spanning for two years should be completed by February 1, 2021.
Maximum funding: CA$50,000
Project proposals can be submitted in either English or Mongolian. Project guidelines, application form, project budget and project summary templates can be found at www.canadafundmongolia.mn.
Please note that only selected proposals will be contacted by June 1, 2019. Proposals sent after the submission deadline, and proposals that do not meet the project requirements will be automatically eliminated from the selection process.
